Features of FRP Cable Trench Brackets:
FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Polymer) composite cable trench brackets feature high strength, flame retardancy, and exceptional electrical insulation properties, in addition to being resistant to corrosion, acids, and alkalis. When installed in shaded environments, their service life can reach up to 50 years; in areas exposed to light, they last for over 20 years. This material is an ideal choice for cable trench support structures and serves as a superior replacement for traditional galvanized angle iron cable brackets. SMC composite cable trench brackets are manufactured using SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) compression molding technology, resulting in a single, monolithic molded unit. Due to differences in thermal expansion and contraction coefficients—as well as the presence of material interfaces—the design of SMC molded products does not permit the inclusion of internal steel reinforcement bars.
1. Lightweight yet High-Strength: With a density of approximately 1.8 g/cm³—only one-quarter that of steel—these brackets allow for easy manual handling and rapid installation while fully meeting load-bearing requirements.
2. Insulating and Eddy-Current Free: Non-conductive and non-magnetic, they eliminate the need for additional grounding, thereby preventing electrical leakage and electromagnetic interference.
3. Highly Corrosion-Resistant: Resistant to acids, alkalis, salt spray, and humidity; they do not rust in harsh environments such as coastal regions, chemical plants, or wastewater treatment facilities, offering a service life of 30–50 years with zero maintenance required.
4. Theft-Resistant with No Scrap Value: Containing no metal components that could be dismantled and sold for scrap, they significantly reduce the risk of theft at construction sites.
5. Wide Temperature Tolerance: Standard formulations withstand temperatures ranging from -20°C to 80°C, while specialized formulations can accommodate extreme ranges from -40°C up to +100°C.
6. Smooth Surface Finish: The smooth surface prevents damage to cable sheaths and minimizes friction during cable installation.
Common Specifications and Connection Methods for FRP Cable Trench Brackets
- Support Arm Lengths: 250, 300, 350, 400, 500, 600 mm;
- Load Capacity: Classified by project requirements into Light-duty, Medium-duty, and Heavy-duty types; the uniformly distributed load capacity of the support arms complies with national standards;
- Connection Methods: Embedded fixing (pre-installation), expansion bolts, snap-fit splicing, and specialized resin bonding;
- Colors: Commonly yellow (for high visibility); gray, green, and other colors are available upon request.
FRP cable trench brackets are suitable for use in cable trenches, cable tunnels, integrated utility corridors, substations, communication base stations, chemical industrial parks, coastal wind power facilities, subway systems, and highway embedded pipeline networks. They are particularly well-suited for environments characterized by high corrosivity, high humidity, or explosion hazards, serving as an ideal replacement for traditional metal brackets made of angle steel or channel steel.
FRP Cable Trench Bracket Styles: Classified into the following four types:
1. Embedded Type: Pre-installed (embedded) into the walls of cable trenches or tunnel linings during the concrete pouring phase; offers exceptional stability and durability, making it ideal for new construction projects.
2. Bolt-on Type (Wall-Mounted): Secured directly to the wall structure using expansion bolts; requires no pre-embedding and is the preferred choice for renovation and retrofit projects.
3. Modular/Combination Type: Features a snap-fit connection system between the vertical column and the support arms; allows for adjustable lengths and tier configurations, facilitating rapid assembly and disassembly.
4. Pivoting Type: The support arms are designed to rotate within a small angle range, allowing them to adapt to varying wall curvatures as well as thermal expansion and contraction.
